What we do
At CCB we focus our work on the needs of communities in Berkshire.
Our work with communities today includes providing support with Neighbourhood Development Plans, Informal Adult Learning, a tailored service to volunteers that run Community Buildings and supplying independent advice on Rural Housing solutions. We also offer a service for member Town and Parish Councils ensuring that they are well managed and comply with all relevant legislation.
Recently we have run a number of projects which have focused on keeping people warm and healthy in their homes. These have included launching an Oil Buying group to reduce the cost for those that heat their homes with oil and providing guidance to the vulnerable and those at risk of fuel poverty to advice them on how to reduce their energy bills.
In the past we have led on a variety of diverse projects including managing grants and funding, providing education opportunities for gypsy and traveller communities, assisting with the digital switchover for vulnerable groups, working with migrant workers, the BME community, carers, young people, the elderly and the unemployed.
