The Community Buildings Advice Service (CBAS) is a 'must have' service for anyone who manages or runs community halls and public buildings. Giving members advice and guidance on topics as diverse as health and safety, to insuring your building - joining CBAS is easy and offers help by telephone, email, or in person – whatever suits you best.
Using the knowledge and expertise we have gained over the last 40 years we work with management committees, trustees and managers of community buildings throughout Berkshire to provide advice and solve problems.
Community buildings and village halls are valuable and essential venues for playgroups, dance classes, sports activities, adult education, meetings, family celebrations and other activities. They are often the hubs around which community life revolves.
They also need constant care and attention to be kept up to standard and be economically viable. Management committees and trustees are responsible for the safety and legal status of these buildings so that everyone can make use of them.
Join the Community Buildings Advice Service to be confident that your community building or village hall is safe, and your management committee and trustees are protected from liabilities.
Here are the areas that the CBAS can help with:
We also provide regular training workshops on all aspects of running a community facility which are either FREE or at a reduced cost to CBAS members. Membership of CBAS is open to anyone running a community building or village hall. Membership fees vary so please contact us for details.
